Don Garlits' quest for ever more speed and wins found its expression in the revolutionary SR30 of 1986, which became famous as the "Englishtown wheelstand" car. On the way to its nine national championship event wins, SR30 became the first to reach the 270MPH mark and carried Big Daddy to his second consecutive NHRA World Championship.

Wins included the Cajuns, Gators, Northstars, Chief Auto Parts, Cragar Wheel Classic, U.S. Fuel & Gas Championships, the ADRA Summernats, and the Big One, the U.S. Nationals, the eighth of Big Daddy's storied career.
